A perfect blend of thoughts...

I left a voicemail for a friend in which I corrected myself for inventing a word used as a subject in a previous email. The content of the email was inspired by a metaphor that describes each of us as a bubble in the foam on the crest of a breaking wave. I wrote a brief, poetic response in which the subject line was ephereal moments.

The word that I intended to use was ephemeral, and in my moment of inspiration, neglected to confirm with dictionary.com. Well, this morning, I received a response to my correction. From his perspective, the word that I created is an appropriate combination of two words. The first word is ethereal. This word sometimes describes something that is celestial, spiritual, or exceedingly light. The second word that I intended to use, ephemeral, means fleeting or short-lived. What resulted from this seed of inspiration is a word that carries the symbolism of both words, and is uniquely defined by its interpretation. My gracious thanks to this friend who continues to expand my vocabulary both within and outside the realm of the "infallable" Oxford dictionary.

Ephereal Moments

Huge ocean of energy,
Energy in motion... the bubbles,
at the crest of the wave.

The water is still there, it does not move.
The energy flows through it to create a miracle.
Life is full of such miracles,
and I know that there is a god within me.
